IMG Academy camps for the elite youth player
April 26, 2010
Since 1999, the IMG Soccer Academy has led the way in developing America’s top youth soccer prospects, and this summer it’s your chance to use IMG to reach your full soccer potential.

Already one of the top youth soccer camps in the world, IMG is expanding its summer program to provide the serious youth player with three different camp experiences: the 5-week Summer Cup League (July 4 – August 7), three 3-week camps (June 13 – July 3, July 4 – July 24, or July 25 – August 4) and weekly summer camps held through the months of June, July and August.

Players between the ages of 12 and 19 will train with full-time A-License coaches of the IMG Academy at the same facilities that the US National teams, NCAA teams, European clubs and foreign national teams utilize for training.

The IMG camps are intended for elite players committed to sharpening their skills, incorporating speed, agility, mental conditioning, nutritional education, communication and leadership sessions into a training program meant to maximize the soccer-specific skills of each individual player.

Using three training sessions per day, campers will earn playing time in scrimmages, competitive games and tournaments held in the evening hours.

“Players attending the Soccer Academy will receive the most comprehensive training program available anywhere,” said Adam Gee of IMG Business Development. “The level of play will be extremely competitive, perfect for aspiring soccer players who wish to take their game to another level and continue their development on the field, in the classroom and in life.”

With about 60% of campers coming from overseas to participate in camps in seven different sports, players attending the Academy will be immersed in a multicultural experience, living in a dormitory setting with athletes grouped by age rather than sport or nationality.

And with a pristine 9-field soccer complex opening in June, IMG will provide campers access to world-class facilities unmatched anywhere else in the youth soccer world.

Early registration for the summer camps is recommended, because demand is high for an opportunity as rare as this.

“The goal of our coaching staff each year is to create a team that can continually compete at a national level and attract the attention of college coaches,” said Gee. “By developing their discipline, athleticism, work-rate and winning mentality, these camps will enhance the college prospects of all our student-athletes.”
