2017 Boys Regional Rankings Update
TopDrawerSoccer.com talks a lot about the outstanding youth players in the IMG Academy 150, but there are hundreds of others in each age group that deserve recognition as well. So, each Friday following the Monday release of an IMG Academy 150 update, we will highlight eleven of the regionally ranked players from around the country for that class.

Zach Schewe, Goalkeeper, Georgia United – Schewe has earned eight shutouts in 17 starts for GA United’s U16s, ranked No. 9 in the Grande Sports Academy TeamRank Top 25.
Jordan Blasingame, Defender, St. Louis Scott Gallagher Metro – Blasingame has started 14 matches at center back for SLSG Metro’s U16 Development Academy, a mid-table team with a 9-9-7 record in the Mid-America division.
Brendan McGarry, Defender, Rockford Raptors – A captain for Rockford Raptors U16 MRL squad, McGarry commands the back line and is good in the air.
Blake Willis, Defender, Dallas Texans – Willis started 20 of 22 matches at left back for Dallas Texans U16 Development Academy, a likely wildcard entrant to the Academy playoffs.
Marc Ybarra, Midfielder, Crew SC Academy Wolves – A skillful midfielder with a great first touch, Ybarra is a regular starter with the Wolves, U16s, but has played up with the U18s as well. He participated in the TDS Chicago Combine in 2014 where he earned a spot in the best xi.
Edison Giron, Midfielder, Arlington Eagles Red – Giron was one of the top scorers from the U15 USYS National League with four goals, and led his team to a second place finish in its division and a berth in the USYS National Championships later this summer. He also earned a daily best nod from our staff for his performance with the Virginia 99 ODP team at the 2015 US Youth Soccer ODP Championships last March.
Gregory Sutton, Midfielder, Maui United SC – Recommended for his performance as part of coach Brent Nunes’ Maui United 99s, 2015 Hawaii Youth Soccer U16B State Cup champions.
Miguel Huerta, Midfielder, Arsenal FC – One of only three 1999 birth year players on the full time roster for Arsenal’s U16s, Huerta has played in 20 matches for the 16s and the 18s, scoring one goal.
Juan Chavarria, Midfielder, Shattuck St. Mary’s – Chavarria was the 2014 Gatorade Co-Player of the Year in Kentucky as a freshman at Murray High School, but played club soccer in Tennessee for Tennessee SC. He was a 2014 ODP Interregional All Star as part of the 1999 Region II team, then moved to Shattuck St. Mary’s in 2015 where he has played in 11 matches for SSM’s U16s.
Jonathan Filipe, Forward, Beachside SC – Scored eight goals for Beachside’s playoff-bound U16s ranked No. 13 in the Grande Sports Academy TeamRank Top 25. Filipe was a U.S. U15 BNT camp invitee in 2014, and participated in US Club Soccer’s id2 program in 2012.
Luke Madsen, Forward, Forza FC – Forza currently plays for Utah Youth Soccer member Forza FC, and earned an ODP National Championship in 2015 with Utah ODP 99. A former U.S. U14 BNT camp participant, Madsen also spent some with Real Salt Lake AZ’s U14s in 2014.
