Five General Tips About College Recruiting
). Keep your options open: Don’t limit yourself to a certain school, conference or division. There are a lot of schools in DI, DII, DIII, NAIA and in the NJCAA with competitive programs.
). Exposure, exposure, exposure: Have I mention exposure? Playing in front of as many coaches as possible is ideal. Whether it be in a showcase, camp or tournament make sure you are putting yourself in places to be seen.
). Prepare: Do your research. Learn about the NCAA recruitment process. The more you know going into the recruitment cycle the better.
). Ask questions: You will without a doubt encounter a situation, question or scenario you are unsure of. That’s okay. There are plenty of resources for you to find the answer. A good example is recruitment Q&A or seminar offered at camps and showcases.
). Have fun: The recruitment process can be overwhelming at times. But just remember it’s supposed to be fun! You are pursuing the chance to play soccer in college. Don’t lose sight of that.
