Day 6 Best XI: Title-winning performances
REDMOND, Washington — The final day of the ECNL Playoffs here on Tuesday provided the highest drama yet. With U18 and U14 title matches kicking off and the final day of U15, U16 and U17 group play, there was no shortage of top individual performances. TopDrawerSoccer.com’s daily Best XI from the event piles into its final day with another round of top players to watch.
GK Amy Kirk, Slammers FC U14: Slammers’ tournament hasn’t been perfect at the back, but it’s been pretty darn outstanding. As the fountainhead of that effort, Kirk played a massive role in the team’s run to a title thanks to her fantastic instincts off her line. That the team shut out an incredibly potent Surf team in the final shows you not only how good the back line was, but how solid Kirk’s been all season. Surf scored 20 goals in their first four and none in the finale.
