ECNL Recap: Undefeated and moving on
U14
De Anza Force picked up its first conference win of the season on Saturday with a 1-0 result over previously unbeaten Pleasanton Rage. Sean O’Brien scored the lone goal thanks to an assist from Tuhina Dasgupta.
Concorde Fire moved to 7-0 on the season after wins over VSI West FL Flames and Orlando City YS over the weekend. Fire topped Flames 5-1 on Saturday with Cheyenne Andrews grabbing the lone goal for the losing side. Fire notched a 2-0 win over Orlando City on Sunday.
Eagles Soccer Club enjoyed a perfect weekend with a pair of 2-1 win over Heat FC and Las Vegas Premier. The two Sarahs led the way against Heat FC with Sarah Goldrod and Sarah Hernandez both scoring goals. Whitney Ellis and Isabella Pariente provided the assists. Teresa Fontenot and Jackelyne Espinosa scored on Sunday in the victory over Las Vegas Premier. Pariente added her second assist of the weekend in that win.
U15
San Diego Surf battled to a hard fought victory over Slammers FC on Sunday in the lone games of the weekend for the Southern California teams. Brazilian-American star Catarina Macario scored the lone goal in the win for Surf.
Colorado Storm also had a perfect weekend with wins over Vardar and Minnesota Thunder. Strom beat Vardar 5-0 on Saturday with Morgan Metcalf leading the way on offense with two goals and an assist. Allison Schlegel and Elisabeth Geraghty each had a goal and an assist in the win as well. Cameron Bell scored the lone goal on Sunday thanks to an assist from Schlegel.
Solar Chelsea Soccer Club had a six-point weekend with wins over D’Feeters Soccer Club and TSC Hurricane. Mary Moore scored twice in the 4-1 win over D’Feeters. Keely Morrow and Janie Harbour also scored. Kennedy Munson and Emilie Harvey contributed with the assists. Taryn Torres had the lone goal on Sunday in the 1-0 win over TSC.
U16
Lonestar SC rolled to a 3-0 win over Texas Rush in its lone game from over the weekend. Maya Dokic, Nakia Graham, and Natalie Hanson scored for Lonestar in the win. Emily Thurston dished out an assist.
Michigan Hawks continued their undefeated start to the season, but could not manage to pick up a win in either game over the weekend. Colorado Rush and the Hawks battled to a 1-1 draw on Sunday. Alaina Snedden scored the lone goal for Rush thanks to an assist from Megan Delmonico. Hawks were also held to a 1-1 draw on Sunday in a clash with Real Colorado. Kelcey Cavarra scored the lone goal for Real Colorado.
So Cal Blues defeated West Coast FC 3-1 on Sunday in a showdown of Southern California teams. Blues used a pair of goals from Summer Mason to beat their local rivals. Toni Holland also scored with the assists from coming from Lauren Markwith and Alexanderia Griffith.
Slammers defeated San Diego Surf 3-1 behind a pair of goals from Julia Bingham in the second half. The two squads played a scoreless opening stanza before the goals started pouring in in the second half. Ayana Robles scored the other goal for Slammers on the day. Anissa Dadkhan added the lone goal for Surf.
U17
It was a wild one in the U17 age group between West Coast FC and So Cal Blues. West Coast outlasted the Blues in a 6-4 thriller with Leah Pruitt and Christina Settles scoring two goals a piece for the victorious side. Mikayla Casey and Ashley Cordero each had two assists in the win.
Brittany Crabtree scored twice and Dallas Texans recorded a 3-0 win over TSC Hurricane on Saturday. Samantha Chaiken had the other goal for the Texans, which used assists from Kiley Burns and Emily Bates to cruise to victory.
U18
Real So Cal kept its undefeated season alive with wins over Las Vegas Premier and Heat FC over the weekend. Real So Cal beat Las Vegas Premier 2-1 on Saturday thanks to goals from Noel Askins and Dana Fujkuni. Goalkeeper Ella Dederick was credited with an assist. Whitney White scored the lone goal on Sunday in a 1-0 win over Heat FC.
