U.S. U18 Men’s National Team head coach Javier Perez has many roles within the Federation. Last summer, he was on the bench for the Men’s National Team in Brazil. He has assisted with other national teams in the past.
Perhaps the most important role that Perez plays is as an ambassador. Perez has been the first coach to work with Julian Green, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and many other players who have recently joined U.S. Soccer’s family.
On Sunday, Perez wrapped up his second camp with the new U18 age group, which consists of players born in 1999. He chatted with TopDrawerSoccer after Sunday’s scrimmage against Canada about the game, the new age group, and what it takes to scout potential players for the U18 age group.
