Kristian Fletcher Signs With D.C. United
After joining Loudoun United earlier this season, rising U.S. youth prospect Kristian Fletcher has turned pro.
Excelling with Bethesda SC and in high school soccer before joining D.C.'s USL side Loudoun earlier this year, Fletcher inked a Homegrown contract with D.C. United, the club announced this week.
Last fall, Fletcher played high school soccer at the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. The Washington Post named him the All-Met Player of the Year iin Boys soccer after he scored 26 goals and had nine assists in 17 games.
“Kristian is a fantastic young talent and we have been monitoring his progress with Loudoun United since he joined the Club,” D.C. United General Manager Lucy Rushton said in a press release. “He’s a versatile attacking player and Wayne [Rooney] has been impressed with the attributes he has shown in games and when training with the First team. We’re looking forward to his continued development as a first team player at D.C. United."

Fletcher scored four goals in 12 appearances this season for Loudoun United, originally joining the team on an academy contract back in May. No. 8 in the 2023 Boys IMG Academy Player Rankings, he has also been called up to the U.S. U19 and U20 MNT. He'll remain with Loudoun United for the remainder of the 2022 season, officially joining the MLS roster in January 2023.
