The evolving trend of players born in 2007 turning pro continued this week, as the Kansas City Current announced the signing of Alexandra Pfeiffer.
No. 1 in the 2026 Girls Club Soccer Player Rankings, presented by IMG Academy, Pfeiffer joins the NWSL side after a standout career with St. Louis Scott Gallagher.
“Alex is a tremendous talent we are so excited to bring to the Current,” general manager Camille Ashton said in a press release. “We believe she has the ability to impact this team for many years to come and are thrilled she chose to take this next step in her career to continue her development with us in KC.”
A two-time national champion with the St. Louis Scott Gallagher 06 squad, Pfeiffer turns pro after a slew of achievements at the club and youth national team levels. She's earned back-to-back ECNL All-American awards, and has been called into the national team at the U15, U16 and U17 age groups.
“I am unbelievably excited and blessed to say I’m playing for the KC Current!” Pfeiffer said in a statement. “Everything about this club is class, from the players to the facilities, to the coaching staff and ownership group, I can’t imagine a better place to start my professional career. I’m eternally grateful to the Longs, Cami and Vlatko for this opportunity and I can’t wait to get on the pitch with this team and help win some championships!”
