This week’s announcement that the U.S. Soccer Federation will host a U20 invitational tournament from September 7-11 is perhaps the second-to-last event ahead of the 2018 CONCACAF qualifying tournament in November.
Head coach Tab Ramos has called in 22 players, and the U.S. will enter 19 players on a U19 team to expand the pool and give every player multiple chances to impress. Perhaps most interesting, the U20 and U19 U.S. squads are set to play against each other, offering a chance for players to go up against each other in a competitive match.
