Pro Prospects: Another goal in Germany
Another weekend, another goal for a young American in Germany’s youth league.
Midfielder Taylor Booth earned the starting nod for FC Bayern Munich’s A-Junioren team, scoring the second goal in his side’s 5-1 win. Booth played the full 90 minutes as well, as his career in Bavaria picks up pace.
It was another win for Michael Edwards and VfL Wolfsburg’s A-Junioren side. The central defender went the distance in a 2-1 win against FC Carl Zeiss Jena.
Defender Mason Judge remained in the starting lineup for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Under-19 team, continuing to play up with an older age group. The U.S. Under-17 MNT center back helped secure a 2-1 win against Hoffenheim on the weekend.
A week after snagging a brace for SC Freiburg, Alex Mendez remained in the starting lineup for their A-Junioren side. He played 66 minutes in a 1-1 draw with FC Nurnberg.
Reserve team forward Isaiah Young started for Werder Bremen II, playing 45 minutes before getting subbed out at halftime in a 1-0 victory.
Ledezma continues comeback, helps PSV see out win
The weekend’s biggest development, at least from the prism of the Under-20 Men’s National Team roster, is the continued comeback of Richie Ledezma. The midfielder made his second appearance for PSV Eindhoven’s Under-19 team, coming on with the score tied 0-0 against fellow American Sergino Dest.
Ledezma continued to show well in his 30-minute cameo, as PSV found the back of the net, holding on for the 1-0 win. Our friend Adam Belz has an every-touch GIF-thread which can be seen below.

Overkill? Certainly. But it's the first time we've gotten to see him play since the DA Playoffs last summer so as far as I'm concerned it's a national holiday. pic.twitter.com/JhbEL12Yhq
Hagan scores for Sporting Gijon
Another U.S. Under-17 eligible player enjoyed a nice weekend in Spain. Cade Hagan scored four goals and setup another for Sporting Gijon’s academy side, helping them to a 5-0 win in a local tournament held in the north of Spain.
Entering the game with Villarreal B trailing 2-1, Mukwelle Akale was unable to help his side overturn the deficit in his short cameo, as that remained the final score.
Midfielder Jude Burst played all 90 minutes in central midfield for Unificacion Bellvitge’s 2-1 win versus Mercantil C.E.
Fossey, de la Torre start for Fulham U23s
The comebacks continued over the weekend in Premier League 2 action, as both Luca de la Torre and Marlon Fossey started for Fulham U23s. The pair went the distance, with Fossey at right back and de la Torre manning the right wing in a 1-1 draw against Sunderland U23s.
Also getting into action at the Under-23 level in England was Indiana Vassilev. The U.S. U17 World Cup veteran started and played 63 minutes in a 3-2 loss against Reading.
