Pro Prospects: Sockers standout on trial
Illinois-native Cole Mrowka is training with Danish powerhouse Brondby IF this week. Danish outlet 3point.dk was first to report the news. Mrowka, born in 2006, is a talented center midfielder who impressed scouts and agents during the MLS Next event in Southern California in December. His play at the club level earned him an invitation to play in the all-star game at the event.
He currently plays for Sockers U16 team, which is 8-0-1 on the season in league and inter league play. Mrowka has been part of the youth national team picture with a call-up to the Regional Identification event in Indianapolis last year.
He plays as either the No. 8 or the No. 10 at the club level. The 3point.dk article reports that Mrowka will train with the club’s U17 team during the trial.
