TDS Combines: Dallas Best XI Girls
TDS’ second Combine at the University of Texas at Dallas showcased over 100 of the top players from the Texas area. Players participated in technical and tactical sessions, as well as small-sided and full-field games under the watchful eyes of top college coaches.
The best girls XI from the Combine include representation from many of the region’s top players and clubs, with the Dallas Sting providing the most players from any club. The 2016 class showed incredibly well, and will surely feature some future quality Division 1 players.
Jennifer Hiddink – D’Feeters - Goalkeeper (2015) – Impressed mightily during the Goalkeeper session as well as during full field games, Hiddink communicates very well with her back line, and is an athletic keeper. Showed great hands and footwork as well.
Kendall Wells – Dallas Sting – Left Back (2014) – Kendall was the best let back at the Combine for her ability to defend and strength getting forward in the attack. A versatile player, Kendall will excel at the next level due to her natural size and technique.
Grace Waugh – Dallas Sting – Outside Back/Center Back (2016) – Waugh’s greatest strength is in her crossing and 1 v 1 ability taking on players. Provides great movement off the ball, and is very dangerous attacking from the outside back position when she gets forward.
Ashley Warner – Fort Worth FC – Center Back (2015) – Warner was one of the best center backs at the Combine. She is very composed on the ball and is a very good passer of the ball out of the back. Can be dangerous on set plays in the air, and is a natural leader, which is always promising to see out of a central defender.
Kirsten Siragusa – Dallas Sting – Right Back (2016) – Siragusa is technically very sound, and makes accurate short passes to build up the attack. Solid and intelligent defender, who is able to hold off players well. Good tackler who can win possession and accelerate away with quality. Number 10 rated prospect in Texas for the 2016 class who appears to have a great future ahead of her.
Julia Lenhardt – Dallas Sting – Midfielder (2016) – The best 2016 girl at the Combine, Lenhardt was excellent on the ball throughout the day. Great technique and 1st touch. Very intelligent player tactically, and is a good distributor of the ball from the center of the field. Does well to get her teammates involved and put them in dangerous positions to score.
Tayler Estrada – NWA Lightning – Midfielder (2013) – Estrada was by far the best girl at the Combine. Her speed of play, composure under pressure, and presence in all aspects of the game were phenomenal. Excellent communicator who is equally comfortable on the defensive and offensive side of the game. She’s a true box-to-box midfielder, who is the engine of her team. Great soccer IQ and is very creative in the final third of the field. Will have a brilliant future in the game of soccer.
Olivia Bagby – Dallas Sting – Midfielder (2015) – Very talented dribbler who has great technique. Strong fundamentals and makes very good decisions on the field. Talented in most aspects of the game, Bagby excelled at picking out teammates and creating dangerous opportunities.
Kayla McKeon – Dallas Sting – Midfielder (2016) - Another Dallas Sting product that had an excellent showing. Kayla’s technique and movement off the ball were superb. Fundamentally a very sound soccer player who will get even better.
Cyera Hintzen – Dallas Sting – Forward (2016) - Strong technical player. Hintzen impressed because of her vision and excellent decision-making ability in small spaces. She is a natural finisher who is equally adept at striking with her left foot as she is with her right foot. Very dangerous in front of goal, and is a great dribbler in space.
Bryson Thomas – Dallas Sting – Forward – Extremely quick and agile forward who is very direct in the way she attacks opposing defenders. Will be a difference maker at the next level due to her first touch and execution under pressure.
