TDS Philadelphia Combine: Best XI Boys
The 2013 TDS Philadelphia Combine featured many of the east coast’s top young players, particularly from the 2016 and 2017 classes. College coaches and scouts evaluated players during technical sessions, small-sided games, and full field games.
Boys in the Best XI came from top clubs like BW Gottschee, PA Classics, Albertson SC, and the New York Red Bulls.
Stephen Kopsachilis – BW Gottschee – Goalkeeper (2017) – The young keeper did a magnificent job in the 11 v 11 games, constantly making big save after big save. Great speed and balance, and moves his feet very well. Can stretch very well to dive and make the difficult save. Distribution and ability on the ball was top notch on the day. Great potential for Stephen to develop into one of the country’s best Goalkeepers.
Philadelphia Combine.
Brett Mendelsohn – Albertson SC – Defender (2014) – Strong Center Back that stood out for his tactical positioning and organizing during the full field games. Good tackler of the ball, Brett constantly communicates with his fellow defenders, and has good vision on the ball.
Zachary Repetto – Delaware Saengerbung – Defender (2015) – Repetto won every single 50/50 ball he went for. Relentless tackler who is also comfortable on the ball, Repetto led by example at the combine and was very strong in the air. Good lateral quickness, and simply did not get beat on the day. Great defensive instincts.
Jamie DiLuzio – BW Gottschee – Defender (2017) – Another glimpse at the #59 ranked player in the country for 2017s. Very versatile player. Great soccer instincts, and can play a variety of different positions (left back, center back, or defensive midfielder). Uses body well to keep himself in between the opponent and the ball. Plays very well in tight spaces and doesn't try to over-complicate the game. Great technique and will continue to get bigger, stronger, and faster.
Jacob Kemery – United German Hungarians – Defender (2016) – Kemery is a player that has improved leaps and bounds since our first combine in 2012. He was encouraged to improve upon his communication and organization out of the back, as well as his ability to win balls in the air last year. Jacob worked on all of those this past year, and it showed. He also impressed scouts and coaches with his 1 v 1 defending and passing during the buildup. He is developing into a very complete defender.
Max Silberg – Pittsburgh Riverhounds Academy - Midfielder (2017) – The #2 ranked player in PA for the class of 2017 displayed his excellent technique and passing ability at the combine. His movement off the ball and decision making under pressure also stood out as his top characteristics. Moves the ball well during the buildup, and always seems like he’s one step ahead mentally of defenders.
Armin Efendic – PA Classics – Midfielder (2015) – Efendic has fantastic natural ability. He is currently ranked as the 32nd best Midfielder in the country and showed exactly why with his superb technical foundation. Great passer of the ball combined with an elite first touch. Was a constant threat in the final third throughout the day. Dangerous on the ball.
Conor McGlynn – BW Gottschee – Midfielder (2016) – Another BW Gottschee product that really caught the attention of the college coaches and scouts in attendance. Already ranked #95 in the country, Mcglynn was one of the most technical players at the combine. Comfortable dribbling at defenders, Mcglynn shines with his range of passes. Always looks for the killer pass, but rarely gives the ball away. Very similar to Benny Feilhaber in the way he approaches the game. Incredibly smart player, who seems to know where the ball needs to go, and has the passing ability to get it there.
Mason Toye – New York Red Bulls – Forward (2017) – Toye is a very confident attacker who loves to take players on 1 v 1. Great dribbler and has the pace to get in behind defenders. Makes good runs off the ball and puts in good crosses. Can play as a #9 or as a winger. Moves well with and without the ball into space. Good finisher, and hits the ball with good technique.
Zachary Seigelstein – BW Gottschee – Forward (2018) – Seigelstein was another young Gottschee player that showed immense potential throughout the day. Excellent finisher in and around the box. Good 1st touch and strikes the ball with good technique. Best player in his group for his age. Very smart player who sees the game well, and is solid on the ball.
Dantae Greer – New York Red Bulls – Forward (2016) – Fresh off a training stint with Norwich City, Greer came in to the combine as an extremely confident forward and it showed. Very talented player. Offered a lot more than expected for a goal scorer. Held play up when needed, brought others into play around him. Equally adept with back to goal or going at it. Quick, smart, and dangerous, he was one of the standout players at the Combine. Great attitude and work rate.

Filip Glowala – BW Gottschee – Defender (2017)
