TDS Unsigned Showcase Dallas Girls Best XI
Our third annual Dallas Unsigned Showcase took place at UTD on November 21. The event saw DI-III and NAIA coaches from Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas in attendance to get a closer look at players from all over the region. Here are the girls Best XI from the event:
GK Jordan Burbank, TSC Hurricanes, 2018: Burbank is an overall good athlete with strong technical and tactical components. She did well making both high and low diving saves, showed strong safe hands and organized her backline well. She showed great maturity under pressure – especially with the ball at her feet.
D Serena Eboh, Solar Chelsea, 2019: Eboh is both technically and athletically strong. She reads the game well, passed well out of the back and showed her ability to get forward down the line on the dribble and create chances.
D Brittany Jones, D’Feeters, 2019: Overall Jones is an effective outside back and showed quality and maturity throughout the day. Technically good and physically strong, Jones rarely gave the ball away, making smart passes and creating opportunities further down the line with dynamic movement off the ball. She has the ability to whip in some killer crosses.
D Madison Stenslie, Heat FC, 2019: Stenslie is a big, strong center back, powerful in the tackle and clean on the ball. She has a good first touch and distributed well out of the back. One of her biggest assets is her leadership and communication on the field – she directed the team throughout the games. She has the ability to break out of the back and join the attack on the dribble.
D Emma Bonin, D’Feeters, 2017: Bonin is a technically strong defender who stayed connected with the backline. She has good speed and strength and rarely got beat at the showcase. She likes to get forward and proved a good outlet to her team high and wide.
M Brittney Harris, New Mexico Rush, 2017: Harris is a high energy box-to-box midfielder. Straight from the off she was involved in everything and was the key to her team ticking. She always wants the ball and kept her passing simple – left the day with a high pass completion ratio.
M Gabriella Wiemann, Solar Chelsea, 2019: Wiemann was a standout center mid at the showcase, getting involved in almost every attack play her team had. Her vision is one of her best assets – she played some great through balls and really connected well.
M Lianna Herndon, El Paso Galaticas FC, 2018: Herndon was great defensively – high pressuring and stepping smartly. She kept things simple in possession and kept the ball ticking.
M Katie Smith, TSC Hurricanes, 2019: Smith has great strength and speed for her age, and showed eagerness to run at the defense and showcase her pace. She created a lot of chances for both herself and others, and has a bright future ahead.
F Sydney Nobles, Solar Chelsea, 2019: Nobles started the full field games cautious and simple and grew with the afternoons games. Technically good, with a great first touch, she was effective in front of goal when she trusted her natural instinct and kept things simple.
F Natalie Gonzalez, Texas Rush, 2019: Gonzalez likes to drift out to the wings and receive the ball in space. She has rapid speed and did well on the dribble – beating defenders to cut inside to take a shot or cutting outside and whipping in quality balls. She looked dangerous up top throughout the day and scored a top notch goal in the first game smashing the ball into the top left corner after some simple movement off the ball.
