United FC (CA) leading U13s
Southern California’s United FC takes over the top spot in this month’s update, due to its superior performance in the CalSouth National Cup and the Dallas Cup, while Pateadores drops to second. Midwest Developmental League winner Chicago Magic remains in third. Making some big moves up the rankings (seven spots each)are Solar Chelsea USCS Pre-Academy and New York Red Bulls 98 Pre-Academy following stellar performances in their respective Pre-Academy leagues in the months of April and May.
Chicago Magic Pre-Academy remains on top in U14s
Chicago Fire overtook the Magic in the Midwest Developmental League standings in recent weeks, but that has not been enough to oust them from the top spot nationally. Nomads SC, Sparta United, and Baltimore Bays’ positions all remain stable for May as well. Sunrise SC Elite from Florida launches itself into the fifth spot with a win at the Dallas Cup and its current second place standing in the Region III Premier League.
Spring league teams take over at U15
With Concorde Fire Elite idle for the high school season, Cincinnati United Premier, last fall’s champion of the Red Division of US Youth Soccer’s National League, was able to take the #1 spot with its performance in the Erie Division of the Midwest Developmental League and the Midwest Regional League, followed close behind by Chicago Magic Pre-Academy. Rounding out the top five the month are Concorde Fire Elite who drops to third, Fullerton Rangers, and GSA Phoenix Red.
Next Week: U16, U17, U18 Boys
TeamRank is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.
The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.
Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.
A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
