Ten U14 Dev. Academy Teams to Watch
For the first time ever, the U.S. Soccer Federation has added U14 teams to compete in the Development Academy, going one age group young from its U16 and U18 setups. Part of the season will place an emphasis on futsal, while also scaling back on travel by adding more teams.

Here is a shocking development – there is an LA Galaxy Academy team with a very strong roster. Former Chivas USA assistant coach Greg Vanney is coaching the Galaxy U14 squad this season, and he has an impressive roster to help him out. U.S. U14 Boys National Team members Ateno Akeakwa, Milan Iloski, Eric Lopez, Jose Ortiz, and Jesus Nunez make up the core of the group. Hanif Wright, the younger brother of U.S. U17 Men’s National Team forward Haji Wright, is another player looking to leave his mark with Galaxy.
