The U.S. Under-15 BNT won the Vlatko Markovic Tournament on Sunday, defeating Japan by a 1-0 score. Seattle Sounders forward Omar Hassan accounted for the winning goal in the final.
It wrapped up a trip to Europe for the 2009s that featured two wins and a loss.
The competition began on May 15, with a 2-0 win against Croatia. Zidane Cadet and Manuel Romero accounted for the goals. Facing England a day later, the U.S. jumped out to a 3-1 lead, with two goals from Hassan and another from William Ostrander. Despite coughing up the lead and falling by a 4-3 score, a third game against Morocco offered a chance to bounce back.
They managed just a feat, as two goals from Paul Sokoloff, a tally from Lukas Bruegmann and another by Ostrander secured a 4-2 win and a spot in the final.
Hassan was named the tournament MVP after Sunday's win.
Congrats to our own Omar Hassan and the @USYNT on winning the Vlatko Marković Tournament! 🏆
