The United States Under-15 Girls’ National Team faced a much stiffer test against Costa Rica on Tuesday at the Concacaf Championship.

Goals from Carolina Reyna, Caroline Swann and Kendall Conway secured a 3-0 win in the second group game of the competition.

After a couple of close calls – including a Reyna goal that was called back for an offside flag – the USA took the lead through the striker from Texas. High pressure from KK Ream in the 10th minute forced a turnover in the Costa Rica box. Reyna pounced, opening the scoring with her fifth goal of the competition.

While the United States maintained pressure and created chances early in the second half, a second goal didn’t come until the 48th minute. Madelina DiMaria, who entered the game as a sub, did well to earn a penalty kick with a driving run into the box. Swann stepped up and converted from the spot to make it a 2-0 game.

Costa Rica did well to make the game difficult. Building out from the back and taking risks, they were able to get a couple of close looks on goal. That included a great shot from range that hit the crossbar. A late Conway goal from a free kick ensured the USA nabbed all three points.

Next up for the U15 GNT is a Thursday matchup against Cuba at 1 p.m. ET.

USA Lineup: Ella McNeal (Anne Fowler); Taylor Morrell, Meila Brewer (Chloe Miller), Elena Vera Alexandra Han (Bristol Kersh); Loradana Paletta, Caroline Swann (Kendall Conway), Deus Stanislaus (Mia Corona); KK Ream, Amari Manning (Madeline DiMaria), Carolina Reyna
