U17 WNT heads to OTC for training camp
The U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team come together for its next training camp from June 9-16 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
U.S. head coach B.J. Snow has called up 28 players for the event that will include a scrimmage against the Slammers FC Under-18 girls on June 15 at 11 a.m. PT. The team will also play an intra-squad on June 12 at 4 p.m. PT.
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 1997, are age-eligible for the next FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to be held in Costa Rica, and Snow called in mostly 1997s with seven 1998s.
One of the three goalkeepers called up for the camp is six-foot Brooke Heinsohn, granddaughter of legendary Boston Celtics NBA player and coach Tommy Heinsohn.
