U19 MNT roster named for COTIF tournament
U.S. Under-19 Men’s National Team head coach Brad Friedel called in 22 players for the 33rd International U-20 Men’s COTIF Tournament, set to take place July 20-Aug. 5 in Valencia, Spain.
The U-19’s will return to Spain for the first time since competing in the Copa del Atlantico Tournament in Las Palmas in early February. The 22-player roster will include 10 players from April’s 2016 Slovakia Cup roster and three players from both previous tournament rosters, to compete in the team’s third tournament of 2016.
The USA will face Venezuela on July 26, Mauritania on July 28, Spain on July 29 and finish group play against Bahrain on Aug. 1.
The U-19’s are coming off a three-game win streak after defeating Georgia (5-1), Ukraine (2-1) and Russia (2-1) to win the 2016 Slovakia Cup in late April.
