U19 WNT Roster for camp in Chula Vista
The U.S. Under-19 Women’s National Team will hold its third event of 2016 as 26 players head to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., for a camp running from May 14-21. The camp will be run by U.S. Soccer Development Coach Jitka Klimkova.
All the players in this age group are eligible for the team that will participate in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to be held later this year in Papua New Guinea, and will be trying to make an impression to get called into U-20 camps prior to the World Cup which is not until November.
Of the 26 players called up, 15 are in college while the remaining 11 are still playing youth club soccer. Most of the players in camp were born in 1997 with four born in 1996, which is the age cutoff year for the next U-20 Women’s World Cup, and three in 1998, making them age-eligible for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France.
