US Youth Nationals: Day 1 heroics abound
FRISCO, Texas - The US Youth Soccer National Championships arrived here with a bang on Tuesday. And thanks to the pristine conditions of the Toyota Soccer Center grass combined with a less-than-devastating temperature forecast for the day, the soccer did not disappoint.
A collection of 96 boys and girls representing the top of the US Youth Soccer food chain kicked off group play from the U13-U20 ages with hopes of ultimately hoisting a national title trophy come Sunday. Needless to say, there were a handful of scintillating performances pushing both highly recruited and lightly scouted players to the national fore.
