The second YNT Regional ID Center of the club season is being held in Bradenton, Florida on March 30. This camp in Florida is happening one week after the event in Texas. The Florida event features the top talent, as identified by U.S. Soccer scouts, from Florida in the 2005, 2006, and 2008 age groups.
There are 28 players called into the YNT Regional Identification Center in Bradenton. Weston FC leads the way with six players on the roster. Sunrise Prime has five players and Florida Elite has four players on the roster. Seventeen of the players come from ECNL clubs. Eleven of the players come from the Girls Academy League. No other league is represented.
Regional ID Centers are also planned for other metropolitan areas (Denver, San Jose, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, New York/New Jersey, and South Carolina) to help with the identification process for the youth national teams.
The two standouts on the roster for the upcoming event in Florida are Kimmi Ascanio (Weston FC) and Brooke Bunton (United Soccer Alliance). Among a sea of the top players from the 2005 and 2006 age gorup, Bunton and Ascanio, both born in 2008, are playing up two/three age groups during this identification center. U.S. Soccer has clearly identified the duo as players with potential. There are seven players born in 2006 on the roster. The rest of the roster is made up of players born in 2005.
Katie Cole, Ileana Moschos, Laurie Thomas, and Tonio Paternostro are listed as the staff for the event.
