U.S. Soccer is hosting Youth National Team Regional Identification events in key markets across the country. There was one held in New York on September 22 for the 2006 and 2007 age group.
There were 33 players called into the identification event in the 2006 age group. New England Revolution led the way with nine players. The staff that worked the event are Rob Irvine, Paul Ellis, Dietmar Mertel, Chris Smith, and Danny Cepero. Cepero is listed as an assistant coach with the youth national teams.
