@FGCU_MSoccer Spring and Summer Camps Dates
FORT MYERS, Fla. – After leading the men’s soccer program to its third NCAA Tournament appearance this past fall, head coach Bob Butehorn and the FGCU men's soccer coaching staff has announced the dates for their annual Gulf Coast Soccer Academy for the upcoming spring and summer.
Butehorn, who has led FGCU to five-straight Atlantic Sun Conference regular-season league championships and three NCAA Tournament berths in its first four years of eligibility, will be joined by assistant coaches Joe Dincecco and Alec Dufty for a series of different types of camps. All camps are held on FGCU's pristine resort-style, beach-lined campus, conveniently located just minutes from the Fort Myers airport and Gulf Coast beaches.
Below is a description of the various types of camps which appeal to a wide group of high school players (grades 9-12) and even as young as 8 years old who are looking to learn, have fun, elevate their game and work alongside the entire FGCU men's soccer coaching staff. Butehorn will teach the fast-paced, possession-based attacking style of FGCU, which boasts several current and former members who were discovered at past summer camps. The camps are focused on a simple coaching principle that helps young people learn and develop skills more quickly and effectively when they are having fun. The main objective is to teach players how to fully reach their potential as a soccer player.
