USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force women’s soccer team dueled crosstown rival UCCS to a 0-0 double-overtime tie Sunday afternoon at the Cadet Soccer Stadium.  The tie moved the Falcons to 0-1-1 on the season.

The Air Force offense had scoring chances all game, but just could not finish with a score.  The Falcons held a 20-10 advantage in shots and a dominant 9-0 advantage in shots on goal.

Freshmen Stephanie Patterson and Wrendy Rayhill combined for eight shots, seven on goal, for AFA.  Ashley Collins, a former two-year letterwinner at Air Force, led UCCS with four shots.

With the help of a solid defensive line effort, freshman goalkeeper Charity Blanton notched her first-career shutout.  Ashley Armstrong had five saves in 45 minutes for the Mountain Lions, with Kayla Miller notching three saves in the remaining 65 minutes in relief.

Air Force returns to action Friday, Aug. 28, at the Razorback/Adidas Classic, taking on Arkansas.  Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. CST.
