DAYTON FLYERS DEFEAT BGSU, 6-0
DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men’s soccer team defeated the Bowling Green Falcons 6-0 on Wednesday night at Baujan Field.
This was the first time that the Flyers had scored six or more goals since November 2, 2008 at St. Joseph’s (W, 7-1).
KEY STATS
The Flyers were outshot 9-6 in the first half, despite having a 2-0 lead. They finished with 17 shots compared to the Falcons’ 15 attempts.
Bowling Green had 10 corner kicks compared to the Dayton’s two. The Falcons had nine of those in the first half alone.
The home team had two shots on goal in the first half with both of them finding the back of the net. In the second half, they put six more on seven more on target.
Senior Maik Schoonderwoerd led Dayton with three shots in the first half. He finished with five on the game, three of which were on goal.
Bowling Green had not trailed by more than two goals until this match.
Justin Saliba recorded three saves in his third shutout of the season.

14th Minute: Chip pass by junior Tommy Harr to senior Andrew Lightner on the left side of the box. Lightner with a cross to Maik Schoonderwoerd. Schoonderwoerd with a finish to the bottom right corner. (Dayton 1, BGSU 0)
24th Minute: Kissima Bojang dribbled to the top of the box, brought the ball to his left foot, and shot the ball into the upper left corner of the net. (Dayton 2, BGSU 0)
50th Minute: Michael Frasca took the corner and crossed to Lalas Abubakar with the header. The goalkeeper stopped Abubakar's initial attempt before Amass Amankona slotted it home. (Dayton 3, BGSU 0)
61st Minute: Michael Frasca passed the ball to Maik Schoonderwoerd and Schoonderwoerd pass back to Frasca. Frasca with a shot to the lower left corner. (Dayton 4, BGSU 0)
75th Minute: Schoonderwoerd took control after an attempt was cleared and his shot found the lower left corner of the net. (Dayton 5, BGSU 0)
81st Minute: A long pass from Carlos Sendin found Anthony Keene in the box. Keene was able to finish his shot in the lower right corner. (Dayton 6, BGSU 0)
