Georgetown women announce spring schedule
March 27, 2012
Georgetown University Head Women’s Soccer Coach announced that the Hoyas will play five games during the spring.
“This spring schedule gives us a perfect balance of games as we look to start preparations for the 2012 fall season,” Nolan said. “While we need to replace some very good graduating seniors, we also have some very good players ready to step up and fill their shoes.
“These games will be very important as we start to put together the framework of next year’s team, starting right out of the game with a road game. The girls are working very hard and excited to get back on the field.”
The match at Penn State will kick off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25.
The Hoyas will also play at Navy on Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m.
Georgetown’s lone home match of the spring is against George Washington on Wednesday, April 4. Kickoff at the Multi-Sport Field is slated for 8 p.m.
The spring slate closes out with a match at Towson on Sunday, April 15 (1 p.m.) and at Virginia Commonwealth on Friday, April 20 (7 p.m.).
Georgetown is coming off a 2011 season that was its most successful regular season in program history, as the Blue & Gray finished with a 15-6-0 overall record. The 15 wins were the most in a regular season and tied for the most in a season overall with the 2010 squad. Georgetown finished in second place in the American Division of the BIG EAST Conference, earned a first round bye and advanced to the semifinals of the league tournament for the second time in program history.
