Hopkinson - 2013 Hermann Award Semifinalist
ODU’S TIM HOPKINSON -2013 HERMANN AWARD SEMIFINALIST
KANSAS CITY, MO—Old Dominion University senior forward Tim Hopkinson (Nottingham, England) is one of 15 semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Award, Collegiate Soccer’s highest individual award presented annually during a January banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. The finalists will be announced on Dec. 12th.
Hopkinson, the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year was also named C-USA All-Tournament and first team All-Conference. Hopkinson leads C-USA in total points with 28 and total goals with 12. The Monarch team co-captain scored three goals in a match against VMI and two goals in a match against Central Florida and the NCAA first round victory over Drexel. He was named NSCAA National Player of the Week on Oct. 15th and twice named C-USA Player of the Week.
He is currently 11th nationally in total goals and 15th nationally in total points. Hopkinson finished his career at ODU third all-time in total points with 85, fourth all-time at ODU with 33 career goals and seventh all-time with 19 career assists.
NCAA Division I coaches that are NSCAA College Services members may vote for their top choices Wednesday, Dec. 4 through Tuesday, Dec. 10 within myNSCAA on NSCAA.com. Soccer fans can also let their collective voice be heard by voting for their favorite player on the MAC’s website hosted by LockerDome, starting Thursday, Dec. 5.
The top three vote-getters for each gender from the combined NSCAA coaches and weighted fan votes will be announced as finalists Thursday, Dec. 12, followed by the announcement of the winners at the banquet, Friday, Jan. 10, 2014.
