Scouting Loyola: The Greyhounds take a 3-2-1 record into a road game vs. Maryland, Baltimore County on Sept. 19 before hosting JMU. In a vote of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference head coaches, Loyola was picked to finish third in the 10-team league behind Fairfield and Iona.
The Series with Loyola: Loyola leads the series with JMU 6-1 and has won the last six meetings. However, the teams last met in 1993.

Scouting Georgetown: The Hoyas, among only 19 teams still unbeaten (7-0-1) in NCAA Division I men's soccer, are ranked 15th by Soccer America and ninth by the NSCAA. Georgetown will host Rutgers on Sept. 22 before traveling to JMU. In a vote of Big East head coaches, Georgetown was picked to finish third in the seven-team Blue Division of the league behind Connecticut and Notre Dame.
The Series with Georgetown: JMU has won all three previous meetings with the Hoyas, but the teams last played in 1989.

Dukes Set School Unbeaten Streak Record: JMU's 2-1 home win over Hofstra on Sept. 15 pushed the Dukes' home unbeaten streak to a school-record 15 games (13-0-2). The Dukes have not lost a home game since Nov. 6, 2010. The former school record of 14 (13-0-1) was set over the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
The Dukes' current streak began with a Sept. 2, 2011, win over Florida Atlantic. JMU did not lose at home in 2011 (11-0-1), and the Dukes have a 2-0-1 home record in 2012.

Over .500 and A Vote in a National Poll: JMU's Sept. 15 win vs. Hofstra moved the Dukes' record over .500 for the first time this season. The Dukes, now 3-2-1, also received a vote in this week's NSCAA coaches poll.
Unbeaten No More: JMU was the first team to beat North Carolina (Sept. 11) and Hofstra (Sept 15) this season.
McLaughlin and Aðalsteinsson Honored: Senior midfielder Christian McLaughlin and freshman defender Bjarki Aðalsteinsson were honored for their play last week.
McLaughlin was named to the Team of the Week by Top Drawer Soccer and was voted CAA Player of the Week by both the CAA and College Sports Madness. He scored the game-winning goal in JMU’s 1-0 upset of top-ranked (NSCAA) and defending national champion North Carolina on Sept. 11.
Aðalsteinsson was selected CAA Rookie of the Week and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. He was instrumental in leading the JMU defense in the 1-0 win over UNC and a 2-1 victory over previously undefeated Hofstra on Sept. 15. He won balls in the air, organized the Dukes' defense and was a dominating player at the back.
Aðalsteinsson and the Dukes' defense held a UNC team scoreless that had not been shut out in its previous 16 games, dating back to the 2011 season. The Tar Heels entered the JMU game unbeaten (4-0-0) and riding a school-record 16-game unbeaten streak..
The ECAC award was selected among nominees from its 88 Division I member schools.
Former Duke Sapong Recognized: Former JMU player CJ Sapong (JMU 2007-10) was named one of Major League Soccer's "Men of the Match" in Sporting Kansas City's 1-1 tie with the Houston Dynamo on Sept. 14.
In the third minute of stoppage time, Sapong buried a header that gave Sporting a 1-1 draw against the Dynamo.
JMU & Five Opponents Projected for NCAA Field: JMU and five of the Dukes' opponents are projected to be among the 48 teams in the 2012 NCAA Tournament field, according to the website TopDrawerSoccer.com. The weekly rankings are a running attempt to project the postseason NCAA Tournament qualifiers, including every automatic conference berth. The Week 5 rankings were released Sept. 17.
