Maybin Named NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America Third Team
KANSAS CITY, Kan.: Junior Martin Maybin garnered yet another post season award today after earning NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America Third Team honors.
Maybin led the Rangers, ranking first in the RMAC in six separate categories and ranking nationally in those same categories. The Belfast, Northern Ireland native ranked fourth nationally in points per game and total points, fifth in total goals, sixth in goals per game, 14th in total assists and 25th in assists per game. He netted 17 goals and nine assists for 43 points on the season. He put 43 of his 70 shots on goal for a 61.4 shot on goal percentage, while also amassing six game-winning goals.
Maybin was named All-RMAC First Team, Daktronics All-America Second Team and All-District First Team and NSCAA All-South Central Region First Team along with his All-America honors.
Regis finished 14-4-1 overall and 11-2-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this season. As a team, RU topped the RMAC in five categories and came second in two, finishing nationally ranked 11th in total assists, 14th in total points, 15th in points per game and win-loss-tied percentage, 16th in scoring offense and total points and 17th in assists per game.
