Patriot League Preview
Army won the Patriot League regular season, but Navy won the conference tournament as a four-seed and entered the NCAA tournament despite a losing record. Anything is possible in a league where most games are decided by a goal or less. An example is Colgate, who finished 0 and 18 in 2021, then turned that around with a 7-4-7 record last season and a three-seed in the conference tournament.

The Horizon is another league looking to raise the overall level of its teams. Cleveland State won the regular and post-season, while six of the ten teams in the conference won four games or less. But with several programs adding talented newcomers, Horizon should be better from top to bottom.

Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preview
Quinnipiac rode a high-flying offense to regular and post-season conference championships as their 56 goals dwarfed Marist, who scored the second most with 29. That explosion was surprising after scoring just 27 the season before. But with their top scorer, David Bercedo, and Rookie of the Year Alexander Stjernegaard transferring to different programs, Quinnipiac has plenty to prove.

Northeast Conference Preview
Merrimack is coming. After the transition from D2 prevented the program from NCAA eligibility, Merrimack embarks on the 2023 season with no restrictions. Coach Martone and his squad won the regular season in 2019, a perfect 9 and 0 in their debut season, and have finished in the top-4 every year since, including second place last fall. With the team motivated by their eligibility, while Fairleigh Dickinson and LIU bring back talented rosters, the NEC will be a tight race.
