GAME NOTES

TAMPA, OCT. 14, 2014 – No. 24 USF returns home for a brief time as they host Denver on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m., in a non-conference tilt at Corbett Stadium.

The Bulls are coming off a 3-1 win on the road at Cincinnati last Saturday night with all three goals coming in the second half.  USF has now scored three goals in four straight games for the first time since 2002 and is only four goals away from matching its season total from 2013.

Lindo Mfeka was named American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring his first goal of the year against Tulsa and adding two goals against the Bearcats. Edwin Moalosi and Nikola Paunic were both named to the conference honor roll as well.

SCOUTING DENVER

Team Outlook: The Pioneers are members of the Summit League and come into the match with a 7-4-1 record this season. They were picked to win the conference this season after posting a perfect record in league play last year, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they were eliminated in penalty kicks by Louisville in the first round.

Player to Watch: Eric Kronenberg (So.-F)
Kronenberg leads the team with five goals and 11 points this season and was selected to the Summit League All-Newcomer Team as a freshman last year.

ALL-TIME SERIES

The Bulls are undefeated against the Pioneers with a 3-0-0 record, but the two programs have not met since 1976. USF has outscored Denver 11-0 in the all-time series with all three meetings coming on the road.

» The Bulls have scored three goals in four consecutive games for the first time since 2002 and have had back-to-back goals less than four minutes apart in three straight games.

» Through 11 games this season the Bulls have already scored 21 goals. They only scored 25 goals all of last season in 21 games.

» Senior midfielder Lucas Baldin is tied for seventh in the nation with seven assists this season. He also ranks second in the American with 15 points and has recorded at least one point in seven straight games.

» Lindo Mfeka became the third USF player this season to be named American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals last week.

» Nikola Paunic made the conference honor roll after scoring his first-career goal in the Bulls’ 3-1 win at Cincinnati last Saturday night.

USF goes back on the road for a huge conference game at SMU on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. ET. The Mustangs currently sit atop the American Athletic Conference standings, one spot above the Bulls.
