Oregon State Falls at Colorado
BOULDER, Colo. – The Oregon State women's soccer team lost, 3-0 to Colorado Sunday afternoon at Prentup Field.
Colorado (11-3, 5-0 Pac-12) dominated the first 45 minutes out shooting Oregon State, 9-1. Junior Bella Geist saw four shots on frame and nabbed a pair of saves. OSU's (5-7-2, 0-5 Pac-12) lone shot in the first half was wide right, taken by junior Emma Jones.
The Buffs started their scoring in the 17th minute, after Sarah Kinzer tallied her fourth goal of the season after finding the top-right corner, just out of reach of Geist. Colorado added to its lead in the 25th minute after Taylor Kornieok fired a shot into the bottom-left corner of the frame to give the Buffs a, 2-0 advantage. Kornieok's goal was her 10th of the season as she leads the Buffaloes and the Pac-12 in goals.
In the second period, the Buffs kept the pressure on and added to their lead in the 67th minute. Danioa Evans found the back of the net after a corner was sent into the box to increase Colorado's lead to, 3-0.
Colorado held a slight shot advantage in the second period as the Buffs fired eight shots, to the Beavs seven. Senior Annie Govig and junior Kayla Latham both put opportunities on frame, but were saved by Jalen Tompkins. The pair of shots were the only two that OSU put on goal.
Oregon State will return to Paul Lorenz Field next Friday and welcome Stanford for a 7 p.m., match.
