Rider Races Past Saints
Rider scored just 84 seconds into the match and never looked back, defeating Siena Soccer 6-1 in New Jersey. The Broncs scored six times on just 13 shots.
Sophomore Uros Antic scored for the Saints (9-6-1, 4-2-1). Freshman Josh Weiss and sophomore Ryan Vyskocil played a half apiece in goal with each making a save.
Rider (8-5-2, 5-3) set the tone early, scoring in the second minute on a breakaway by Jose Aguinaga. He bookended the scoring for the Broncs as he also tallied the final goal of the match and added an assist for five points.
Antic scored in the 31st minute, taping in a deflected cross from Matt O’Brien to halve the deficit at 2-1. But Rider scored twice more before the half was out to take a commanding 4-1 lead at the break and put the match out of reach.
Siena played a man down for the final 55 minutes after junior Tom Allen was disqualified following a second yellow card late in the first half.
The Saints will look to bounce back Wednesday when they head to defending MAAC Champion Quinnipiac for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
