Another Close One for Regis Women’s Soccer; Drop First RMAC Match 1-0 to FLC in 2OT
DURANGO, Colo.: Regis women's soccer (2-2) hit the road last Thursday for their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match against Fort Lewis College.
The match went well into the second overtime before the Skyhawks put one in on the Rangers, ending the day with a 1-0 decision in the home team's favor.
Senior goalkeeper Ellen Augsburger put up nine big saves for RU in the 108 minutes of play, but unfortunately, FLC got the advantage in the end for the victory.
Regis put up nine shots against Fort Lewis' 20 on the day, two of which challenged the Skyhawk's goalie. Sophomore Sid Otto ripped it six times to no avail, while juniors Rebecca Brunson and Kiki Arnold and freshman Kelly Crowe all put up one as well.
Regis will take on Adams State at 1:00 p.m. at the Regis Match Pitch back in Denver, Colo. on Sunday, September 22 for their next RMAC competition.
