Saints use second-half goals to down Patriot
DAHLONEGA, GA - North Georgia College & State University junior James Dobbin scored a pair of unassisted second-half goals to help bring the Saints back from a 1-0 deficit for a 2-1 victory over Francis Marion University, Saturday afternoon (Sept. 29) in Peach Belt Conference men's soccer action.
The Patriots (2-6, 0-3) got started early when in the 33rd minute, senior Travis Bally put FMU up 1-0 with his first goal of the season.
That lead held up going into half and at the beginning of the second half. But the Saints (5-3, 1-1) did not wait long to take the lead back. Dobbin registered his first goal of the season in the 53rd minute to tie the game. Fourteen minutes later, he scored again with the go-ahead goal to secure the win.
Freshman FMU goalkeeper Taylor King saved eight shots for the Patriots, who were outshot 35-16.
The Patriots now travel back to Florence to prepare to host Pfeiffer University on Tuesday at Harztler Field. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
