Second Half Lift South Dakota over UCCS

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team lost its first exhibition of the season 3-0 to Division I opponent, the University of South Dakota.
UCCS controlled play throughout the first half with many scoring opportunities charting three shots on goal. Despite the effort, both teams entered halftime scoreless
The Coyotes got on the board quickly after halftime and didn't look back as Danielle Anderson scored less than a minute into the second half. USD got on the board again at the 70 minute mark as Jenny Teslow found the right corner of the net unassisted. Seven minutes later USD scored the final goal when freshman Jamie Karch converted for her second time this season.
UCCS tallied another seven shots in the second half but couldn't convert. Ten different players recorded shots for the Mountain Lions as they totaled 10 shots for the game with eight on goal. USD recorded 11 shots in the game with four on goal. UCCS goalie Kelly Schroeder was credited with one save in the game.
The Mountain Lions open the regular season on Sept. 6 against Concordia-St. Paul in Pueblo, Colo.
