Second-Half Tallies Provide Mines 2-0 Shutout At Colorado Christian
LAKEWOOD – Colorado School of Mines men's soccer bookended the second half Friday against Colorado Christian with scores from senior Matthew Alemann and redshirt freshman Adam Fox as the Orediggers capped their seven-game road swing with a 2-0 shutout at Lakewood Memorial Field.
Alemann ended the scoreless afternoon 1:21 into the last 45:00 with his team-leading second game-winner by way of freshman Nikolaus Grotz, and Fox added his first career goal at the edge of the 18 with 6:51 remaining.
The Orediggers (4-3, 2-1 RMAC) outshot CCU (4-4, 1-3 RMAC) 25-14, their most shots since 27 versus Adams State on Oct. 11, 2013.
Alemann had game-high five looks with two on frame; Grotz sent two to net and Fox, junior Joe Haines and redshirt freshman Ryan Blarr each tallied one.
Sophomore keeper Collin Hall nullified two shots in 82:11 to improve to 4-3, while freshman Josh Clark made two saves in his initial collegiate appearance.
Mines begins its home slate at 12 p.m. on Sunday against Colorado Colorado Springs at CSM Soccer Stadium in Golden.
