St. Cloud State Edges MSU, Moorhead 1-0
Moorhead, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University soccer team (3-3, 2-1 NSIC) completed a weekend sweep in NSIC action on Sunday, Sept. 21 with a 1-0 victory at Minnesota State University, Moorhead in Moorhead, Minn.
SCSU's Kara Espinosa provided the game's lone goal for the Huskies at 62:18. She was set up on the play by teammateFaith Bila. Both teams posted 12 shots in the contest, as Gabby Fleck paced the Huskies with four shots in the game.
Brittnay Plombon gained her second shutout of the season with six saves to her credit in the nets for SCSU. MSUM keeper Ashley Leintz had eight saves for the Dragons, who fell to 1-4, 9-3 NSIC on the season.
"It was very important for us to get six points this weekend," coach Gretta Arvesen said. "Everyone contributed to our success and Kara Espinosa's preparation to play was inspirational."
NEXT UP:
St. Cloud State will travel to Winona State on Sept. 27 for a 1 p.m. NSIC match. On Sept. 28, the Huskies will travel to Upper Iowa to complete the NSIC weekend.
