St. Cloud State soccer scores 1-0 victory
The St. Cloud State University soccer team (2-3-1, 2-1-0 NSIC) were able to defeat NSIC opponent, the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles (0-6-0, 0-3-0 NSIC) 1-0 on Sunday, Sept. 16 at Crookston, Minn.
The only goal of the game was by St. Cloud State's freshman forward Claire Shea at 51:03. It was Shea's first goal of the season and was assisted by senior defender Sara Magno.
Final shots on goal were SCSU 14, UMC 0. Zoe Welsh was in goal for the Huskies, while Crookston's Olivia Puttin recoded 13 saves in the match. UMC had six fouls in the match and SCSU had two.
Shea led the Huskies with four shots on goal. SCSU's Monica Majeski had three SOG, while Maria Kass andHannah Marion each recorded two.
The SCSU soccer team will continue its 2018 season on Friday, Sept. 21 with a 1 p.m. start at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud, Minn.
