TDS Women’s DI National Top 100 update
Given how well West Virginia has played through this season, it’s no shock to see Kadeisha Buchanan maintain the No. 1 spot in the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Top 100 update.
Buchanan leads one of the nation’s stingiest defenses, one that has conceded only four goals. Riding a 12-game unbeaten streak into this weekend’s action (with just one draw during that stretch), the Mountaineers and Buchanan look like genuine title contenders. The Canadian center back has been as good as advertised after earning the Best Young Player Award at this summer's Women's World Cup.
High-scoring forward Savannah Jordan moves up to the No. 2 spot in the midseason update, enjoying another prolific season in Gainesville, with 14 goals from 14 games this far. Another center back checks in behind Jordan, as Virginia’s Emily Sonnett continues her excellent form on a very good Cavalier side, with possible USWNT candidates Rose Lavelle (Wisconsin) and Andi Sullivan (Stanford) rounding out the top five.
