Temple Falls at No. 22 USF 3-0
TAMPA, Fla. – Temple men's soccer fell in an American Athletic Conference game 3-0 at No. 22 USF on Saturday night at Corbett Stadium. Temple drops to 2-7-1, 1-1-0 while USF improves to 6-3-0, 2-0-0.
The Bulls used three goals in less than a nine minute span in the first half to win the game. Tyler Blackwood scored all three goals for a hat trick. Blackwood scored his first goal in the 21st minute off a loose ball and shot the ball into the right corner of the net. He scored the next two goals in the 29th minute, heading a ball off a cross from Wesley Charpie and then scoring on a shot from 10 yards out.
Goalkeeper Dan Scheck made one save in the first half, and Alex Cagle took over in the second half and made two saves.
Felipe Liborio led the Owls with two shots. The Bulls outshot Temple 21-5 as the Owls weren't able to place a shot on goal.
Temple returns home next Wednesday for another conference game against UCF at 3:00 p.m. The Knights tied SMU 1-1 on Saturday night and are 1-5-2, 0-0-2 this season. Temple tied UCF 2-2 last season in their only meeting between the two schools.
