Trine Falls to Olivet
ANGOLA, Ind. – It was a cold, cloudy evening at Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium where the Trine University women’s soccer team put up a fight, but couldn’t come up with a goal against Olivet College. The loss drops the Thunder to 0-7-1 in the MIAA and their overall record to 1-9-2.
Lauren Vanderhoff of Olivet scores the only goal of the game in the 57th minute. In a scramble in front of the net, Vanderhoff chipped it into the upper left corner of the goal for what would be the game-winner.
Freshman goalie Sloan Davis (Olivet, Mich./Olivet) had 2 saves for the Thunder.
For the match Olivet attempted nine shots, three of which came on goal while the Thunder attempted only four shots with three on target.
The Thunder will next take on Calvin at home on October 9 at 4:00 p.m.
