UT San Antonio women beat Central Arkansas

SAN ANTONIO - Sophomore Lindsay South scored two goals to help the UTSA women's soccer team (8-5, 3-0) stay undefeated in Southland Conference play with a 3-0 win over Central Arkansas (4-7-2, 0-3-1) on Sunday at the Recreational Sports Complex.
After scoring the game-winner on Friday night, junior Jodi Leroy set up what proved to be the game-winner against the Bears. Leroy passed to South, who fired a shot over the head of Central Arkansas keeper Kelsey Gochnauer for a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute.
The Roadrunners wasted no time in adding to their lead, as freshman Laylla da Cruz set up senior Allison Dillon's fifth goal of the season just 36 seconds later.
UTSA took its 2-0 lead into halftime and never looked back.
South notched her second goal of the day in the 78th minute off feeds from Dillon and da Cruz, giving da Cruz a career-high two assists for the game.
The UTSA defense did its part in the second half, limiting the Bears to just four shots en route to the team's fifth shutout of the season.
With the win, UTSA improved to 5-0 all-time against Central Arkansas.
The Roadrunners will look to stay unbeaten and match their best conference start on Fri., Oct. 15, at McNeese State.
