Women's Team of the Week: Nov. 28
The best players step up when needed most, and Brecken Mozingo did that to spearhead a late 3-goal comeback to send BYU to the College Cup. Bella Follino scored first to make it 3-1 in the 61st, but North Carolina held out until Mozingo brought life to the comeback with an 81st-minute Olympico goal as she curled her effort in directly from a corner. And 8 minutes later, it was the Utah native who drove down the midfield, garnering the attention that set up Wade-Katoa’s brilliant left-footed game-winner. Several BYU players could have received the recognition for Player of the Week, but the audacity of Mozingo’s goal and the timing of her contribution give her a slight edge.
