A freshman’s heroic performance in a top-10 matchup leads to player of the week honors as Linda Ullmark announced herself to the college soccer world versus No. 10 Virginia.

When the Tar Heels needed a response after going down 1-0 in the 18th minute, Ullmark responded with a well-placed first-time finish. When Virginia regained the lead in the 35th, it was Ullmark again, playing a sensational through ball. And when the game called for a world-class moment to separate the ACC rivals, the New York native delivered a top-notch game-winner in the 74th minute. In all, the two-time Gatorade New York POTY had a hand in all three goals as No. 2 North Carolina narrowly edged No. 10 Virginia 3-2.

Player of the Week: Linda Ullmark, North Carolina

Women’s Team of the Week: September 23-29

GK Maggie Conrad, Tennessee Tech - The Iowa native put on two special performances for the team’s first wins of 2024, saving 13 shots and two penalty kicks in defeats of Southeast Missouri and UT Martin.

D Alyssa Peters, Idaho - The graduate senior shined defensively in two clean sheets while providing a goal and two assists in wins over Sacramento State and Portland State.

D Alana Lamb, Seattle - The junior defender scored the first two goals of her career to guide a 3-1 defeat of Abilene Christian.

D Lexi Vegoda, UNC Wilmington - Providing brilliant service over two games, Vegoda accumulated one goal and two assists as the Seahawks tied College of Charleston 1-1 and defeated Drexel 3-1.

M Naroa Domenech, Jacksonville State - In a packed week, Jacksonville State won two of three games, with their Spanish midfielder scoring four and assisting another three.

M Linda Ullmark, North Carolina - Ullmark announced herself to the collegiate world with a match-winning performance versus No. 10 Virginia.

M Gabriella Curry, Massachusetts - With a goal and three assists, Curry led Massachusetts to two conference victories versus Fordham and Rhode Island.

M Giulianna Gianino, Boston University - The junior midfielder began the week with an 88th-minute game-winner versus Colgate, then scored one and assisted two in a 6-1 blowout of Lehigh.

F Kailyn Dudukovich, Ohio State - Dudukovich assured the Buckeyes survived a tense week as she scored twice in a 2-2 draw with No. 3 Michigan State, then managed an 86th-minute winner against Michigan.

F Ginny Lackey, James Madison - Continuing her outstanding form, Lackey scored two and assisted twice more to help James Madison defeat Coastal Carolina and Old Dominion.

F Summer Reimet, Monmouth - A difference maker in both matches, Reimet recorded a double to defeat William & Mary 3-0, then provided a goal and an assist in a tight 2-1 match with Northeastern.
