HS: Spring SIMA FAB 50, June 2
TOP STORY: History has a funny way of repeating itself.
For the second straight year, St. Joseph's Academy (St. Louis, Mo.) and St. Teresa's Academy (Kansas City, Mo.) will meet in the Missouri state tournament with the SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 ranking on the line.
The only difference this year, it's St. Joseph's in the top spot and St. Teresa's out to play spoiler. Last year, St. Teresa's nearly went coast-to-coast as the nation's top team before getting upset by St. Joseph's in last year's final.
The winner of this year's St. Joseph's-St. Teresa's match won't have long to celebrate as the team will have to play the next day for the state title.
BIG MOVERS: BOYS: Snohomish (Snohomish, Wash.) claimed a second straight large-school state title, marking the first Class 4A repeat champion in 13 years. The win moved Snohomish from No. 31 to No 23 this week. GIRLS: Grandville (Grandville, Mich.) returns to the Top 25 after winning a region title last week.
NEWCOMERS: BOYS: No. 27 Hanover (Mechanicsville, Va.) and No. 41 Archbishop Murphy (Everett, Wash.). GIRLS: No. 32 Conant (Hoffman Estates, Ill.), No. 45 D.C. Everest (Schofield, Wis.), No. 47 Francis Howell Central (St. Charles, Mo.), No. 49 Westminster Schools (Atlanta, Ga.) and No. 50 Spring Lake (Spring Lake, Mich.).
