HS: Spring SIMA FAB 50, May 19
TOP STORY: State tournaments came to a close in Georgia, Oklahoma and South Carolina last week, and as a result nearly half of the SIMA FAB 50 Spring Boys Top 25 is has been secured.
Of course, the order is subject to change over the next month of high school spring play, but the 12 boys teams that are finished in the Top 25 can only move up at this point.
On the girls side, Illinois teams dominate the SIMA FAB 50 rankings with 10 teams in the Top 25. Such depth is justifiable given the team's out-of-state performances, which includes the state's No. 9 team taking down the No. 2 team in Missouri.
BIG MOVERS: BOYS: J.L. Mann (Greenville, S.C.) moved from No. 27 to No. 8 this week after winning the South Carolina AAAA title and pulling off a large-school title sweep for the school. GIRLS: Franklin (Elk Grove, Calif.) returns to the Top 25 following a convincing 3-0 win over St. Francis (Sacramento, Calif.) in the section final. The win vaulted Franklin from No. 39 to No. 16.
NEWCOMERS: BOYS: No. 13 Allatoona (Acworth, Ga), No. 38 Central Valley (Spokane Valley, Wash.), No. 39 St. Joseph's (Greenville, S.C.), No. 41 Snohomish (Snohomish, Wash.), No. 42 Heritage Hall (Oklahoma City, Okla.), No. 44 Creighton Prep (Omaha, Neb.), No. 46 Brentwood (Brentwood, Tenn.), No. 47 Brookwood (Snellville, Ga.) and No. 50 Gig Harbor (Gig Harbor, Wash.). GIRLS: No. 37 Broomfield (Broomfield, Colo.), No. 39 Owasso (Owasso, Okla.), No. 40 Marian (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), No. 42 Rockwood Summit (Fenton, Mo.), No. 45 Grandville (Grandville, Mich.), No. 46 Pine Creek (Colorado Springs, Colo.), No. 48 Stoney Creek (Rochester Hills, Mich.), No. 49 Lee's Summit (Lee's Summit, Mo.) and No. 50 Brighton (Brighton, Mich.).
