The baton has been passed from one Illinois power to another.

This week New Trier (Winnetka, Ill.) inherits the FAB 50 girls spring No. 1 ranking following a tie by former No. 1 St. Charles North (St. Charles, Ill.). Although St. Charles North slips a few spots this week, this team remains very much in the FAB 50 national title hunt.

Overall, it ended up being a pretty good week for Missouri programs. Incarnate Word Academy (St. Louis, Mo.) and Nerinx Hall (St. Louis, Mo.) both received major jumps in this week's rankings following perfect showings at the Parkway College Soccer Showcase. In total, five Missouri teams in the FAB 50 all moved up this week, which includes Notre Dame de Sion (Kansas City, Mo.) inching up to No. 2.

BIG MOVERS: BOYS: Norcross (Ga.). Norcross emerged with an overtime win over Central Gwinnett in a state coaches No. 1 vs. No. 2 classification meeting. The result helped Norcross jump from No. 29 to No. 11 this week... GIRLS: Incarnate Word Academy (St. Louis, Mo.). IWA made quite a statement at the Parkway College Showcase, beating a pair of nationally ranked Illinois teams. The results helped IWA jump from No. 19 to No. 7 this week.

WINTER SEASON

BIG MOVERS: BOYS: McNeil (Austin, Texas). McNeil jumped from No. 46 to No. 30 last week, powered by a pair of regular season-ending victories. The team's lone loss this season is to FAB 50 No. 2 Alief Elsik (Houston, Texas). ... GIRLS: Tompkins (Katy, Texas). A tie with FAB 50 No. 5 Cinco Ranch (Katy, Texas) helped Tompkins leap a pair of California teams to settle in at No. 34 this week. The two-spot jump was the largest in a week where there were no newcomers to the national rankings.

NEWCOMERS: BOYS: No. 50 Seven Lakes (Katy, Texas). ... GIRLS: None.
